*PAR is a member association of National Federal Paralegal Association (NFPA). By virtue of your joining this association you are a member of NFPA. NFPA is the largest and oldest national paralegal association in the USA, representing over 21,000 paralegals. NFPA provides an effective means of communicating issues of national importance and serves as a unified voice in the development of the profession. By belonging to PAR a portion of your dues is sent to NFPA for your membership in NFPA, of which 4 dollars pays for your National Paralegal Reporter subscription.

  • Membership Categories & Qualifications

  • Voting Membership:

  • Offered to any person who is currently employed as a paralegal on a permanent basis. Must be retained or employed by a lawyer, law firm, government agency, court or other entity and must perform work which is customarily, but not exclusively, performed by a lawyer. Voting members must have a combination of work experience and/or paralegal training and the approval of the Membership Committee. Must also have at least one year of working experience as a paralegal or six months of working experience as a paralegal and have successfully completed an approved formal paralegal training program.

  • Student Membership:

  • Student membership is available to any current student in an approved paralegal program. Student membership may be extended for a period of twelve months following graduation. Graduates of an approved paralegal program are eligible for student membership during the twelve-month period following graduation.

  • Non-Membership Relationships

  • Corporate Sponsors / Affiliations:

  • Affiliated Fees (Required annually)

  • Voting Member : $60.00

  • Affiliate Member : $50.00

  • Student Membership : $30.00

  • Application Review

  • The information contained in this application is subject to review by the Membership Commitee of the Paralegal Association of Rochester, Inc., (PAR) and may be disseminated to PAR's Board of Directors.

  • Within a few days of your application submission, you will receive an email (at the email address you provide) stating we have received your application and it is being reviewed.

  • Returned Checks

  • Checks returned to the Treasurer for non-sufficient funds, or any other reason, will be returned to the issuer for reimbursement of the face value of the check plus any fees incurred by PAR from its financial institution. A copy of the original check and a copy of the letter received from our bank will be sent to the issuer along with a cover letter signed by the Treasurer requesting reimbursement within 30 calendar days or membership will be revoked. The Membership Committee will be sent a copy of the letter.

  • It is the issuer's responsibility to inform PAR of any bank and/or account changes if their check is still showing to be outstanding.
