- PAR History
- The Paralegal Association of Rochester, Inc. ("PAR" or the "Association") was founded in 1974 as a not-for-profit corporation. PAR acts in the interest of its members to meet a variety of objectives
- PAR Objectives
- To establish and maintain high standards of ethical conduct by members of the Association.
- To organize and conduct seminars, conferences and study groups to aid and supplement members' legal education.
- To encourage continuing education.
- To act as a resource center for the paralegal profession.
- To encourage members to donate their time and services to local legal and social service agencies.
- To provide a forum for the exchange of viewpoints on matters of professional interest.
- To provide a network for local paralegals in the support and exchange of ideas.
- To keep members abreast of case law which affects or may affect the paralegal profession.
- PAR Commitees
- The Association carries out its objectives through the efforts of its committees.
- The Membership Committee reviews and acts upon applications for membership, conducts membership drives and coordinates related matters for the Association.
- The Education/Program Committee: arranges speakers and programs for general, special and educational meetings and oversees specialty subsections, i.e., Corporate, Real Estate, Collection & Bankruptcy, Trusts & Estates, and Litigation.
- The Employment Committee: maintains a list of current job openings.
- The Professional Development Committee: conducts research on all affairs related to the paralegal profession, including accreditation, certification, licensure, ethics and ethical codes, and provides other avenues of advancement of the profession.
- The NFPA Delegates: handles all National Federation of Paralegal Associations matters for the Association as well as providing a network through the Empire State Alliance of Paralegal Associations.
